Overlooked in Arms Control: Prompt Global Strike!

Yes, this is old news…but it’s something worth covering.  The Prague Treaty opens the way for research on Prompt Global Strike:

No Constraints on Missile Defense and Conventional Strike: The Treaty d

oes not contain any constraints on testing, development or deployment of current or planned U.S. missile defense programs or current or planned United States long-range conventional strike capabilities.

Not

that I’m entirely thrilled about this.  Ballistic conventional strike is no panacea.  Better than nukes?  Maybe, in an ecological sense, but…once we have ’em, the temptation to use these things will be awfully hard to resist.

Good?  Bad?  We gotta think about that, and maybe, sorta, sic the Arms Control guys on it…
