About Craig Hooper

Craig Hooper is a San Francisco-based national security strategist dedicated to bringing complex security issues and oft-neglected defense topics to the attention of interested policymakers and the general public.

After attending Grinnell College and receiving a doctorate in Immunology and Infectious Diseases from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Hooper served as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Scientist-in-Residence at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies.  He has taught at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, the Richard and Rhoda Goldman School of Public Policy (University of California–Berkeley) and the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey California. 

He is a regular contributor to the group forum on naval affairs at the U.S. Naval Institute.
