About Craig Hooper

Since the founding of NextNavy.com, Craig Hooper has dedicated himself to bringing complex security issues and oft-neglected defense topics to the attention of interested policymakers and the general public.

After attending Grinnell College and receiving a doctorate in Immunology and Infectious Diseases from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Hooper served as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Scientist-in-Residence at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies.  He has taught at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, the Richard and Rhoda Goldman School of Public Policy (University of California–Berkeley) and the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey California.

He has served as a contributor to the group forum on naval affairs at the U.S. Naval Institute, and served as Vice-President of Sales, Marketing and External Affairs at Austal USA from 2011 to 2013.
